Tip! I am Brett Hull, the myspace layout expert. For more info, please visit free myspace background.

MySpace is great because of the huge amount of freedom you have to change your MySpace profile. Using the profile tools and methods below you can trick out your profile to make it interesting and keep people coming back.

Some of the cool features you are able to put on your MySpace profile are games, cursors, layouts, clocks, surveys, and graphics. It's easy to get carried away and really go wild.

Here's a quick rundown of some of the different Myspace codes available and what they do:

Games: You can easily brighten things up by adding games to your profile. Practically anything you can think of from Pacman, Golf, Simon Says, Mario Brothers, Asteroids, Frogger and many more can be easily pasted on to your MySpace profile. These can be changed whenever you like and are a great way to keep people coming back to check you out.

Cursors: I'm sure you've seen these around, they're everywhere. The sky's the limit when it comes to cursors Anything you can think of is available, from animal cursors, flashing words, mermaids and unicorns, you get the idea. This is probably one of the most popular MySpace tools and can start a whole collection and change them whenever you like to spice things up.

Layouts: Also known as skins, layouts make up the basic theme of your profile. There are a wide variety of themes available and it might take a bit of searching to find the one that is best for you. Just remember to select a layout that suits your uniqueness and is pleasing to look at. If your goal is to make peoples eyeballs bleed, there are themes that can do that too.

Clocks: There are many different clock styles to choose from. You can pick from clocks that have a modern design, classic style, and roman numerals, digital and with or without the date. If you want you can even find layouts with matching themes. When installing a clock on your page be careful that your clock does not get in the way of your text.

Tip! Background: To fix your MySpace background, you need to decide on a few things like the background position, the background color, and background image. First of all decide the position where the background will begin.

Surveys: Adding fun surveys and quizzes to your site can make your profile a little more interesting. MySpaceReviews.com has many interactive surveys currently in development. Make sure to check back here so you can share some fun surveys with your friends.

Graphics: Glitter graphics, celebrity pictures, music lyrics and cool icons are just a few of what's possible. Check out the links below to get some really great graphics for your site.

You can easily spend hours pimping out your MySpace profile. Just be careful that your new graphics don't obscure your postings, and remember that your profile is an extension of you.

7 Rules of Successful Myspace Music Promotion

In a very short time, Myspace.com has become the hottest music promotional tool available to anyone. Here are the 7 rules of successful myspace music promotion.

1. Get a myspace.com music page.

Getting a myspace.com music page is free so there is no reason not to have one.

2. Make sure your page is user friendly.

There are many would-be music business professionals who have myspace pages take too long to load. If your myspace page loads too slow, you could be losing potential fans. Mega bandwidth graphics and images will prevent your page from loading quickly. Your myspace page should take no longer than 20 - 30 seconds to load.

Many artists on myspace use layouts that emphasize their creativity but are a nightmare to navigate. Refrain from using dancing cursor's, raining text, and distracting images on your myspace music pages.

Other myspace artists have about me blurbs that go on forever. Keep about me blurbs short (no more than 1000 words), if people want to know more about you, they will ask.

3. Have your music on your myspace page.

Don't put someone else's music on your myspace page unless you were involved in the creation of the music. How can you be discovered if your music isn't on your page?

4. Reach out for friends.

Networking on myspace is one of the most powerful tools you can use to build your fan-base. Take advantage of the opportunity to reach people with like interests. Never ignore or decline a friend request. You never know who can help your career.

5. Treat your friends like friends.

Common courtesy applies on myspace just as in real life. Be willing to thank your friends for adding you as a friend. Respond to friend's emails (if appropriate). Never post your ad as a comment on someone's myspace page without acknowledging them. Limit the size of your "ad comments".

6. Promote yourself in appropriate ways.

Noteworthy career benchmarks, or new music added to your page are good reasons to promote yourself on myspace. List your performance dates on your page and use bulletins to let people know where you are performing. Limit the number of bulletins you post. Posting irrelevant bulletins, or posting bulletins too often, will force your friends to ignore you.

Let people know about your myspace.com page. Putting your unique myspace.com address on your website and business cards will make it convenient for you to build your network and fan base faster.

7. Provide ways for people to purchase your music from your myspace page.

If you sell your music anywhere online make sure there is a direct link from your myspace page to the location where people can buy your music.

Follow our rules and you will have fun and make many friends on Myspace.

Finding and Adding a Cool Profile Layout

All free MySpace accounts come with the same basic profile layout. There is really nothing eye catching about it, and it can fail to emote your individual personality. In order to help you to personalize your profile to best fit you, custom and pre-made layouts are available for use. The following paragraphs will discuss how to locate and use custom and pre-made layouts for your MySpace profile.

While most newbies to MySpace will first start out with the basic profile design provided by MySpace, almost all members tend to individualize their profiles by searching out one that is customized to their own likes and personality. There are a wide variety of websites who offer pre-made and custom layout codes, that can drastically change the look and feel of your MySpace profile, customizing your profile to better fit you!

You can generate a list of links to possible websites that offer a variety of layouts by utilizing your favorite search engine. Type the words "MySpace Layouts" into the provided area of your search engine and hit "enter". In doing so, you will generate a list of links that lead to possible web pages that offer the layouts you are looking for.

Once you find a layout you would like to use for your MySpace profile, it is time to put the code in the appropriate place. Each layout will commonly have a code associated with it, and you must copy this code. Paste it onto your wordpad and minimize the window.

Now it's time to put the code into your MySpace profile. In order to do so, you must be logged into your MySpace account. After you are logged in, you should see a link to click, in order to "Edit Profile". The link will be located to the right of your picture, first on the list. Once you click this link, you will be ready to insert your new layout code.

On the "Edit Profile" page of your MySpace account, you will see a section that says "About Me". You now need to copy the profile code, again, from the wordpad where you saved it prior. Now, paste the saved code into the top of your "About Me" section, before any text or graphics you may have already inserted in this area. Hit "Save All Changes", at the top the page, and you are all set. When you view your profile, you should now see your new layout.

What Is MySpace.com?

MySpace.com has become, by far, one of the most popular Internet sites on the World Wide Web today. Now, people from many countries can create a profile, customize it with premade layouts like those offered by mypsace.org and instantly gain access to the many features and benefits the MySpace.com service has to offer.

Not only has it enabled users to chat with old friends, meet new ones, and share common interests with many others simultaneously, it has also given many professionals the platform they need to showcase their products, services, and many talents.

Many independent music artists, filmmakers, and comedians have posted information about themselves, as well as files available for download so that everyone can enjoy their various sources of entertainment. Many celebrities have also created MySpace.com pages so that they can interact more with fans, while also giving the fans yet another means by which to discuss their favorite celebrity or artist.

While this all sounds great on the surface, there have, however, been significant difficulties that have resulted in legal issues. These issues have affected many MySpace.com users. In recent months, users of MySpace.com have had difficulties getting in to and maintaining their sites. Some have even found their information to have disappeared altogether, thus making it necessary for them to re-create their entire profile and all subsequent pages.

It was quickly discovered that this was a result of computer hacking, which has happened to many users. While identity theft is certainly something that has become more common and more feared in recent years, many users probably didn’t imagine someone would hack into their pages to steel their information.

This has become a grave concern of many computer users over the past decade, as more and more people are beginning to conduct business online. Now, many people pay bills, shop, and conduct other various forms of business that require them to share pieces of personal information. This information can include a social security number, bank account number, credit card information, mailing address, phone number, and even E-mail address.

While much of this information isn’t required on the MySpace.com site, (only E-mail address and name are required), users are given the choice to include various other pieces of information that could, in turn, harm them if placed in the wrong hands.

The argument can be made, however, that just about any piece of information can be traced if the person tracing it is experienced and knows just where to look, and that MySpace.com doesn’t ask for any information that could put its users in danger of identity theft. MySpace.com has subsequently taken legal action to prevent such occurrences from happening again, and have since taken steps to keep its users as safe as possible.

Users are also cautioned to provide only information they wouldn’t mind others knowing, and to be careful not to reveal anything that could cause them harm. It should also be noted that MySpace.com isn’t the only site of its kind to experience such issues, and they are sure to pop up almost anywhere. The key is to be careful, be aware, and to report anything that seems like it might be suspicious. This will not only help keep you safe, it will help others remain safe as well.
